Definition of Rules


The Premier Cup Series is run under the FEI Rules for Jumping Events (22nd Edition, Effective 1st June 2007) and the EFA Dressage Competition Rules and Procedures (Effective 1st January 2008) with the following amendments:.


JUMPING RULES AND REGULATIONS
All classes below the height of 100cm
  • 1st refusal = 4 faults
  • 2nd refusal = 4 faults
  • 3rd refusal = Elimination
  • Competitors who wish to enter classes lower than their horse’s registered grade has to ride Hors Concours. Acceptance of such entries is at the discretion of the Organizing Committee.
  • Young Riders may be mixed with Open Riders in the interest of a smooth flowing class. Classification however shall remain distinct.

DEFINITION OF AGE
  • Junior Riders – Under 16 years of age
  • Young Riders – Between 16 to 21 years of age
  • Senior Riders – Above 21 years of age


Dressage Rules and Regulations

Group division for Preliminary and Novice classes ONLY
  • As a way to encourage children and amateur riders to compete in Dressage, the Organising Committee has divided riders into 3 groups. The classification of each group is as follow:
    • Group A - Riders who have achieved over 60% in their previous Preliminary and/or Novice tests.
    • Group B - Riders who have achieved less than 60% in their previous Preliminary and/or Novice tests.
    • Group C - Riders who have never competed in Preliminary or Novice.
  • We encourage riders to compete in the highest level they can, but not on the expense of the horses or ponies. The Organizing Committee have decided to set requirements for Elementary and Dressage classes:
    • Elementary Classes - Riders must have been previously placed in Novice tests.
    • Medium Classes - Riders must have been previously placed in Elementary tests.
    • Advance Classes - Riders must have been previously placed in Medium tests.
  • Riders will have to specify themselves their groups in the Entry Form. The Organizing Committee is not responsible to determine which group the rider belongs too. However, failing to enter the right group may result to elimination.
  • Sharing of horses can only be done in Preparatory and Group C of Preliminary and Novice events with the maximum of 2 riders per horse.
  • Horses in Group C are NOT ALLOWED to enter in Group A and B events.
